Since you have another computer, put the hard drive from the old computer into the new one. If there is a Windows\Options folder that contains the Windows setup I had been dl'ing the drivers onto another pc, burning them, and trying to install them from that, but as you can see, its just one problem after another.

How to uninstall Win98 & restore 95
Load the OS's in the wrong order and Windows will blow away your Linux install. With a dual boot you can also end up putting Lilo someone else on the hard drive which makes it more suspectable to getting wacked. My solution, such as it is, is to put all of the UNIX stuff on a separate hard drive.

You complain that Serenity is not being active enough trying to expand the user base, while at the same time you are pooh-pooh'ing their efforts with the installer. Usually, people want to do that because they want to make room on the hard drive to install another OS with a different file system format.

still don't know why you want to install into another partition. But if you must, you'll have to do it with Fdisk. That means at the very least Fdisk-ing the drive, re-partitioning, formatting the partitions, -and - all with a win95 startup disk that has the real-mode CD-Rom drivers, -and- remembering to sys the

When
testing drive performance, they will actually report different performance levels. Keeping things separate, lets windows and your machine perform it's best. I think this is bunk.
